Biology - Minor

Any matriculating Nazareth University undergraduate with an interest in biology may declare a Biology minor. This minor gives students an introduction to each of the three levels of biological investigation: the cell/molecular level, the organismal level, and the ecological level. Students can choose electives that fit with their areas of interest. Three introductory biology courses and two upper level electives are required for this minor, with a minimum of 18 credits.
All biology department courses and courses with a prefix of “SCI” for the minor must be completed with a grade of C- or better to satisfy the program requirements.

Required Courses for Biology Minor
The following courses (11 credit hours) are required for a Biology minor. Students typically progress through BIO.Q 103/103L, BIO 104/104L and BIO 105. However, students have the option of completing BIO 210 /BIO 210L and BIO 211 /BIO 211L in place of BIO 104/104L.
Elective Courses for Biology Minor
In addition to the required 11 credit hours, Biology minor students select two 200-level or above courses from the list below for a minimum of 18 credits. Note: Some of these courses have prerequisites that are not met with the introductory sequence. |
