This program is designed for students interested in a strong chemistry background but with specific emphasis to biological systems at the molecular level. The goal of this program is to prepare students for a career in medicine, dentistry and other health professions; graduate studies in biochemistry and other medical science areas; or immediate employment in industrial laboratories requiring expertise in biotechnology techniques.

Majors are required to complete: ACS Certified Degree
To receive ACS Certified Degree students must also 3 credits of advanced elective as well as: Senior Experience
For Chemistry majors, the Chemistry Seminar (Chm 450-452W) functions as the Senior Experience. The seminar develops the scientific reasoning and communications skills and evokes the integration of the liberal studies into the major. Students prepare and present research papers based on laboratory research or extensive reading of research literature. |
