Art History

Completion of three sections of the general western art survey (Art 171, 271, and 272) plus eight upper division art history courses. Drawing I and II (Art 106, 107) are recommended. The equivalent of at least two semesters of college level study of a language is required; four semesters recommended if graduate work is contemplated. A senior thesis in research format with defense is required for Comprehensive Examination. Because of the cyclical nature of art history offerings, transfer students should not expect to complete requirements in two years.
