Students completing the accounting major acquire the knowledge and skills needed to succeed as active members of the profession. Students completing the B.S. in Accounting will:
- Be immersed in a business core curriculum that provides an understanding of economics, management, marketing, technology, finance, and entrepreneurial and global issues.
- Develop proficiency in the areas of communication (oral and written), critical thinking, and teamwork.
- Learn to use sound professional judgment to resolve problems in an analytical and ethical manner.
- Balance their professional education with studies in the liberal arts to better understand the role of the professional in business and to promote life-long learning and the pursuit of personal growth.
- Be encouraged to pursue an internship in accounting to gain valuable work experience for academic credit.
In addition, students completing the B.S./M.S. in Management will meet the requirements to sit for the New York State C.P.A. exam.
