Within the department there are the majors of Accounting, Business
Administration, Business and Marketing Education, and Economics. The Department
also coordinates the Information Technology program.
Major Program Requirements
B.S. in Accounting
A GPA of at least 2.5 is required for the accounting
courses and also for the overall GPA. Besides meeting the general curriculum
requirements of Nazareth College and the departmental and major requirements,
students must have at least 60 credits of non-business courses, as determined by
New York State.

Mgt 212, 216, 305 and 306; Mth 111 and 207; Cis 141; three credits of business
electives.
B.S. in Business Administration
Required
Act 209, 264, and 349; Eco 101, 102, 250 or 334; Mgt 212, 216, 301, 305, 330,
349, 410 and 430 (Meets requirement for the senior experience); Mth 207; Cis 141 or 241 or Mgt 352
A minimum average GPA of 2.0 is required for business core courses.
Students are encouraged to select a concentration from within the Business
Administration major (e.g., accounting, economics, finance, human resource
management, marketing), or a minor from outside the major (e.g., foreign
language, economics, computer science, English, political science).
Students interested in a particular concentration or minor take all the courses
required for the B.S. in Business Administration plus the courses required for
the concentration or minor. Interested students should consult the Degree
Programs Booklet and the department chairperson for specific details.
B.S. in Business and Marketing Education K-12
A cum GPA of at least 2.7 is required.
Required
Bme 358, 465, 466, and 468; Act 209 and 210; Eco 101 and 102; Mgt 212, 216, 301,
305, 330, 352, 419, 427; Mth 207; Edu 030, 204, 409, 475, 476, 477 and 478; one
of the following concentrations (choose two courses from one area) Accounting –
Act 341, 343, 345, 346, 349; or Marketing – Mgt 302, 327, 361, 365, 367; Office
Technology – Bus 241, Mgt 302, 323; six credit hours of a language other than
English.
Students in any of these majors must take at least 18 credits of Act/Bus/Eco/Mgt
courses at Nazareth College.
B.A. in Economics
Required
Eco 101, 102, 333, 334, 480; Mth 111 or 113; Mth 207; Cis 141 or 142. Five
electives from Eco 331, 338, 340, 347, 349, 350, 351, 360, 410, 419, 483, 485,
486; Mgt 312; Soc 352.
A minimum average of 2.0 is required for economics core courses.
Senior Experience
Accounting 447 (Auditing), Bme 465 (Student Teaching), Mgt 430 (Senior Seminar),
Eco 480 (Seminar in Economics) provide the Senior experience for the majors
within the department. In each of these courses students will complete projects
and/or submit papers which will give them the opportunity to make connections
between the knowledge and insights gained from the Perspectives I and II courses
and those courses within the specific major.

Mgt 423.
Economics
Eco 101, 102, 333, 334 and two Eco electives subject to departmental approval.
Entrepreneurship

Admission to any concentration requires permission of the department
chairperson.
Accounting
