ENGL 330G - Irish Literature and Culture (Global course) Irish literature and culture from the moment of the Irish Renaissance in the 1880s to the present, seen against the backdrop of Irish history, particularly the political and military struggles against British colonialism. From Yeats’ poetry to Joyce’s fiction, from U2’s music to Jordan’s films, an examination of how the troubles in Ireland have been reflected in high and popular culture, and how culture has influenced various political movements.
