ANT 320 - PII Peoples and Cultures of Africa

(Perspectives II course) An examination of the cultures of Africa from the prehistoric period to the present. Overview of the geography and history, and key socioeconomic and political structures of the continent, in the precolonial, colonial, and post-colonial periods. Emphasis on the historical, political, economic, and cultural ties between the peoples of Africa and the rest of the world.
