Early Intervention Specialist (Advanced Certificate)

The Early Intervention Specialist Advanced Certificate program helps professionals develop specialty knowledge and skills in early intervention to be a strong advocate for young children and their families. The program interprofessionally prepares students to advocate for change, to work with families in culturally responsive and trauma-informed ways, and to promote the overall development and well-being of young children (0-8 years), and children with different abilities. A specialization like this is valuable because early intervention can significantly impact a child’s developmental trajectory, and well-trained professionals are essential in ensuring that young children and their families receive the highest quality support and services. The EIS Advanced Certificate is ideal for graduate students and early career professionals in allied health (art therapy, music therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, and speech-language pathology) and inclusive early childhood education fields who want to work with young children and families in healthcare, education, or social service settings.
