In order to meet the 9 credits required in the electives, candidates can take credits in one of the special focus areas listed below, as well as courses from the areas of Inclusive Childhood Education or Literacy. For candidates who are employed in their additional certification level, the candidate can choose to complete a job-embedded practicum (internship certificate) as one of their electives. Candidates will select a sequence of courses in consultation with their advisor. - Literacy Specialist Electives (9 credits)

or - Annotation in Severe and Multiple Disabilities (6 credits)
