Nazareth University’s Music/Business degree program is designed to build the music industries’ next entrepreneurs, leaders, and innovators. Our program is a joint collaboration between the School of Music and the School of Business and Leadership that introduces musicians to all aspects of the industry. The program is unique for its breadth and exposes students to the creative, financial, legal, technical, and marketing aspects of the music business. We accompany our on-campus education with a DIY ethos that pairs our students with industry professionals both regionally and nationally.
In addition to intensive study of the historic, current, and future trends of the music industry, the major cultivates a thorough understanding of the functional areas of business, musicianship, performance, contemporary commercial songwriting, music recording and production, management, touring, the live music industry, entrepreneurship, economics, marketing, sociology, and psychology.
For students interested in expanding their educational training in the fields of Music Recording & Production and Contemporary Commercial Songwriting, minors are available to offer those experiences.
Students enrolled in the BS Music/Business degree must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.5.
