Honors Program - Minor

The Honors Program at Nazareth University engages a community of student-scholars in an interdisciplinary program of study in order to foster a commitment to ongoing intellectual curiosity, build leadership in local and global communities, and develop the skills and knowledge to address the complex issues facing our world.

Students need to maintain a 3.5 GPA to continue in the program, plus completion of 18 credits to fulfill Honors Program requirements. See full description of the GPA Requirement and Probation Policy.

Honors Foundation Courses


Students complete 9 credits of Honors Foundation Courses.

Track Options


Students select the Research Scholar, Engagement Scholar, or Global Scholar track and complete 9 credits of coursework within their track.

Note: the course lists below are not exhaustive and other courses may be considered to meet the specific requirements with approval of the Honors director.

Research Scholar


Develop expertise in research and writing, culminating in an original interdisciplinary thesis capstone project or creative research capstone project. Includes research methods and interdisciplinary courses, as well as service on the Honors Advisory Board or as a Peer or Research Mentor.

Engage deeply with global communities, research, and create a globally-focused capstone. Includes a study abroad program, intermediate-level foreign language courses, and upper-level globally-focused courses.

Study Abroad

  • ​Complete a study abroad course, minimum 5 weeks (subjects SAB or EXCH)

World Language & Culture Coursework

  • Complete six credits of foreign language courses 200 or higher (labs excluded); subjects include Chinese, French, German, Italian and Spanish

Global Coursework
