The department of history and political science offers undergraduate majors in history, political science, and international studies, with minors in legal studies, history, political science, and international studies. All programs are dedicated to the study of the human experience across time and space. The history program emphasizes that both we as individuals and the world in which we live are products of a long and complex development. The political science program deals with the intellectual issues involved with the exercise of political power. International studies challenges students to grapple with the complexities faced by the global community. A well-rounded education enables students to develop the highest quality skills of professionals in their fields: critical thinking, strong communication abilities, a love of knowledge and learning, and a deep understanding of how the events of yesterday influence the world of tomorrow.
