EDTS 523 - Introduction to Educational Technology

This is a course intended for all students regardless of their digital learning skills and
background. The focus of this course is on the importance of the intentional integration of technology
into today’s classroom. Students will be introduced to a variety of educational technologies, technology
evaluation tools, and frameworks. Hardware and software topics will include: interactive presentation
hardware and the corresponding software application and presentation tools; learning management
systems; online collaboration tools; web publishing; educational technology applications, and student
response systems. All of these topics will address the ways in which technology can enhance the
listening, writing, reading, and speaking skills of students.
