BIO 350 - Junior Seminar

The first semester of the three-semester capstone is taken in the Spring semester of the junior year. In this seminar the student develops scientific reasoning and communication skills essential for the graduating Biology/Environmental Science majors, and encourages the integration of students’ scientific experience with other modes of inquiry. Students propose a capstone research project in this first semester, designate a faculty supervisor, and begin the literature investigation to support their proposed project. Students are encouraged to develop either a laboratory or field-based original research project, but some students may elect to complete an exhaustive literature-based project on a topic in the primary literature of biological science.
