BIO 103 - PI Biological Systems I (majors)


(Perspectives I course) Bio 103 involves an intensive study of cellular life forms through observation, scientific logic and hypotheses. This first course of our three-semester introductory sequence concentrates on cellular and molecular levels. Topics include biochemistry, bioenergetics, genetics and cell structure and function. The course is required for prospective Biology, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Nursing, and Physical Therapy majors. Prerequisite: a score above 80 on the New York State Regents Biology Exam (or equivalent).

Adv Codes: ACR Coreq: BIO*103L Primarily for Biology, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Nursing, and Physical Therapy Majors. Other majors may take the course ONLY with the permission of the instructor. Normal Offering Cycle: Fall
