PHA 537 - Essentials of Surgery

This course utilizes a comprehensive approach to surgery, encompassing anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, epidemiology, etiology, signs and symptoms. Students will acquire the clinical knowledge to create patient care plans for disorders in surgical patients, including diagnostic work-up, pharmacologic treatment, preventive care strategies, patient education, and appropriate referral practices. Prerequisites: PHA 528, PHA 529, PHA 530. Course open only to students in the Physician Assistant Program.
