PHA 536 - Essentials of Geriatrics

This course utilizes a comprehensive approach to geriatrics, encompassing anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, epidemiology, etiology, signs and symptoms. Students will acquire the clinical knowledge to create patient care plans for disorders seen in the elderly, including diagnostic work-up, pharmacologic treatment, preventive care strategies, patient education, and appropriate referral practices. Prerequisites: PHA 528, PHA 529, PHA 530. Course open only to students in the Physician Assistant Program.
