LTED 644 - Advanced Literacy Assessment, Evaluation, and Instruction


This course is the second in a two-course sequence focused on building candidates’ knowledge of and experience with literacy assessments, evaluation, and planning instruction based on students’ areas of need. Candidates will build on understandings developed in the introductory course as they develop and implement instruction for a student and/or small groups of students. Additionally, candidates will develop their abilities to communicate with families and other stakeholders about students’ progress and advocate for appropriate language and literacy practices. 15 hours of field work required. Open only to Literacy Specialist students. Successful completion of this course requires a grade of B- or better. Prerequisites: LTED 600*and LTED*643.
