PTR 615 - Health Promotion and Wellness The students will be exposed to a multitude of various health and wellness topics, and will evaluate each topic for appropriateness for general and specific client populations. Principles of exercise physiology, nutrition, psychology, sociology, integrative wellness, environment, and other factors of health and wellness, including gender-related and socio-economic factors and considerations, will be discussed as it relates to individuals and the community. Burnout and self care for students and health care workers will be discussed and a self care program will be implemented. Health and wellness promotion and prevention will be discussed from a local as well as a global perspective. Prerequisite: Successful completion of all prior required PT courses.
