MUS 240 - ”Race Records” and the Music of Black Americans This course explores the development of the music of Black Americans beginning with its origin in slavery and moving through to its evolution in modern popular genres such as rap and Hip Hop. We will explore the recurring themes of race as they pertained to popular music development, dissemination, and appropriation. Course Code: BR. DEIB designated course.
