MUS 450 - Musical Styles and Expression The course explores the notion of style as an expressive category in select repertories and works from the classical, jazz, world, and popular traditions. Through analyses of musical works and performances, readings, presentations, and creative design projects, the class will examine rhetorical aspects of musical styles ranging from the Italian madrigal to Miles Davis and beyond.
