ANT 316G - Anthropology of Development


This course is a critical examination of development, commonly framed as the social and material improvement of societies through planned intervention, using theories and methods in anthropology. Using ethnographic case studies, the course will explore the historical and cultural construction of development, and the power relations that underpin such interventions. Course codes: BR.
