CYD 303 - Plan, Implement and Evaluate Youth Services

Provides students with an understanding of societal and community issues that impact youth programs. In addition, students will learn techniques to respond to multiple stakeholders of youth programming: funders, agency staff, parents, and most importantly, the youth participants. A focus of the class is to provide conceptual frameworks and strategies to insure youth involvement in decision-making , implementation, and evaluation. Topics include: program planning, developing goals and objectives, program promotion, needs assessments, recruiting and retaining youth participants, evaluating programs, risk management, budgeting and facility management. The course requires a service-learning component to facilitate the integration of knowledge-building with competency development. Course required for CYD major. Course Codes: ABR.
