At Nazareth, students interested in education certification (teacher certification) are required to complete a liberal arts and sciences major, in addition to their education program/major.
Inclusive Adolescence programs (Grades 7-12) are available in the following areas: Biology, Chemistry, English, French, History, Italian, Mathematics, Spanish and Theater (with English certification). All grades Students with Disabilities Certification (Grades PK-12) is included with these majors.
Inclusive Early Childhood/Childhood programs (Birth - Grade 6) are available in: Biology, Chemistry, Dance Studies, History, English, Mathematics, Languages (French, Italian, Spanish), American Studies, Community Youth Development, International and Global Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Religious Studies, Social Science, Sociology, Community Youth Development, and Theatre Arts. These programs lead to a university recommendation for the following three NYS certifications:
- Early Childhood Education (Birth - Grade 2)
- Childhood Education (Grades 1 - 6)
- Students with Disabilities, all grades (Grades PK-12)
Teacher certification programs are also available in Art and Music.
