Program Director: Helen Eisenberg, M.S.; Visiting Assistant Professor: Eisenberg, M.S.;  Lecturers: Green, M.S., and Toscano, M.S.

The business and marketing education program is part of the School of Management. The program offers a Bachelor of Science degree in business and marketing education.

The mission of the program is to provide students with the skills and confidence needed to succeed as active and productive business teachers at the secondary and post-secondary levels.

The curriculum in this program is diverse and is rooted in the liberal arts tradition. The program integrates the best theory and practice and facilitates the transition from student to teacher.

Students can self-select to enter the business and marketing education initial certification program at any time from their initial application to Nazareth College through their sophomore year. Students must maintain a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA to remain in the teacher education program. If a student has a GPA lower than 2.7, or if the student has completed fewer than 45 credit hours, he or she is accepted conditionally. In order to move into the student teaching semester, students must have the joint approval of the School of Management and the School of Education. This approval is obtained through the Student Teaching Application, which is completed in the beginning of the junior year. Approval is based on GPA, content knowledge, and satisfactory progress in both the degree program and the education program.

Students who complete this program will receive New York State Initial Teacher Certification in Business and Marketing Education (K-12).
