Advanced Certificate - Nurse Educator (program will begin Spring 2006)



The purpose of the Nurse Educator Advanced  Certificate Program at Nazareth College is to  provide for nurses, who already possess a Master’s Degree in Nursing, an oportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge to teach in a variety of health care settings. Through practicum and course experiences, students can individualize their program of study.

Entry Requirements        
  1. Completion of a baccalaureate and master’s nursing degree from an American Academy of Colleges of Nursing and/or a National League for Nursing accredited program.
  2. Presentation of official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended with B average in required undergraduate Nursing courses, and an overall GPA of 3.0.
  3. Copy of current professional nursing license and registration in New York State or other jurisdiction.
  4. Minimum of one year’s experience working in nursing as a Registered Nurse.
  5. Two letters of recommendation.
  6. Application and fee.
  7. An autobiographical statement, including your reasons for applying to the certificate program.
  8. Interview with the Director of the Gerontological Nurse Practitioner Program.
       
Application Deadlines        

For Fall or Spring Term:
The application deadline is the first of every month, except in the months of January, August, and December when no admissions decisions are made.
