LTED 660 - Introduction to Literacy Assessment, Evaluation & Instruction (Secondary) Stresses the application of the theoretical knowledge of the reading process, recognition of the specific needs of different students, knowledge of instructional strategies, and a grasp of methods of assessment to understand a student’s strengths and needs. The course introduces candidates to various types of assessments and their purposes, strengths, and limitations.
Candidates in this course will begin to use assessment results to plan and implement instruction to accelerate the progress of
challenged readers in the intermediate and secondary grades. 10 hours field work required. Field work can be job-embedded. Course open only to Literacy Students. Prerequisite or corequisite: LTED 600.
