TSL 674 - Advanced Methods and Assessment of TESOL

Assessment of English Language Learners: critical, reflective analysis and evaluation of tests for a variety of language skills and levels. Examination of common standardized tests and alternative testing methods; development of testing strategies for ESOL related topics including literacy, content areas of mathematics, science, and social studies, and culture. Emphasis on authentic assessment techniques. A substantial field experience of at least two days or the equivalent in an educational setting serving English Language Learners is a required component of this course.
