BIO 377 - Conservation Biology


Conservation biology is the scientific investigation of the human impact on biological diversity and the development of strategies to prevent species extinction. It merges ecosystem and population biology concepts with issues of environmental law, economics and ethics. The course includes a field component in which students examine a local habitat and conduct a quantitative environmental assessment of possible damage and the need for remediation and protection.
