SOC 432 - Research Methods:Design &Implementation


This course builds on the Research Methods: Fundamentals (SOC*352) class with an added emphasis on designing and performing qualitative research. Students will be immersed in a variety of qualitative research methods, learning how to navigate the intricacies of data collection, analysis, and interpretation. From the philosophical underpinnings of qualitative inquiry to the practicalities of conducting interviews, focus groups, and ethnographic studies, this course provides a robust foundation in the field. The course will culminate in the completion of a pilot research study, which may either be worked upon individually, or collaboratively. Codes: ABR.
