INCH 355 - Introduction to Literacy and Differentiated Learning This course is designed to build students’ understanding of the theories of literacy, as well as to allow the application of theory into practice. It examines literacy in terms of thought processes, skills, methodologies, and materials that support literacy for all learners. (Must be taken concurrently with INCH 370). Coursework is taught at an elementary school; 45 hours of required fieldwork, school observation and participation are integral components of the course.
Prerequisites & Notes Adv Codes: HK Coreq: INCH 370, EDU 090 Prereq: SPF 204 or can be taken concurrently. 2-3 hrs/wk field work in site location in addition to class. Must be accepted in the Inclusive Childhood/Middle Childhood Education major to register for this course. Allow for 30 min. travel time from Nazareth College; students provide their own transportation. Formerly INCL 355. Normal Offering Cycle: Fall
