AMS 499 - American Studies Comprehensive

Majors select a specific theme or period in American Studies e.g. Gilded Age; Women in the Civil War; Reform Spirit in America. They write a paper on the selected topic, incorporating ideas from the various areas of study-comparing, contrasting, evaluating. Students defend their paper in an oral presentation.
