NSG 504 - Introduction to Gerontological Nurse Practitioner Roles

The focus of this course is to introduce the advanced practice clinical role in providing culturally congruent care to the older adult.  The student will be provided with opportunities to observe the Gerontological Nurse Practitioner role, utilize assessment skills, and work with older adult clients and their families in a variety of environmental contexts.  Emphasis is on analysis of clinical decisions made by preceptors and the clinical decision-making by the student as related to the provision of culturally congruent care of the older adult.
