MUS 411 - Medieval/Renaissance Music History & Literature An in-depth study of music from Antiquity, the Middle Ages, and the
Renaissance. Students will be encouraged to increase their
familiarity with repertoire, style, genres, performance practices,
analytical methods, and cultural contexts through various small,
independent research projects and presentations, as assigned by the
instructor. A larger term project may be an option. Students will
be expected to participate regularly in class discussions, analyses,
and responses to class presentations. Reading, writing, verbal
presentation, and critical skills emphasized.
