AED 554 - Art Education I

This course combines the methodology, theory and practice of teaching art through 30 hours of student participation in practicum situation. Course work includes planning and curriculum development, special needs concerns, motivation, classroom management strategies and the assessment of the art experience. Students are required to maintain a journal that documents, synthesizes and evaluates their growth as a professional art teacher. Students then document their learning as a philosophical art teacher. Students then document their learning in a philosophical essay.
