PTR 649 - Evidence-Based Practice This
course is designed to orient the professional
physical therapists and
students to the
responsibility of using recent
clinical evidence
to support clinical practice.
Students will learn
about medical informatics,
evidence-based practice
and clinical research.
Students will have a CD-ROM
with lectures, Blackboard
Discussion Board, and
be given assignments that will
require them to
assess and critique recent
professional literature
in physical therapy. Students
will explore
evidence to support physical
therapy diagnosis
and patient management.
Outcome assessment
tools will be
studied and students will have the
option to enter their reviews
of these tools in
“Hooked on
Evidence”, the APTA database of
physical therapy evidence.
Open only to students
in the Transitional DPT
program.
