SWK 501 - Social Work Practice I Prepares
students for generalist social work
practice with individuals,
families, groups,
communities, and
organizations. Introduces
students to the history of
social work practice,
the place and purpose of
generalist practice, and
the beginning phases of
practice relationships.
Considers assessment and
developing relationships
from a cross-cultural,
strength-based, community
collaborative perspective
across the five client
systems. Develops a practice perspective
focusing on empowering client
systems to address
issues of economic and social
justice.
