PTR 507 - The Business of Physical Therapy
The
student is prepared for a role in
administration and management
in physical therapy.
Emphasis is on interpersonal
interactions with
other health care
professionals and effectively
applying concepts and
principles of management in
the provision of physical
therapy to individuals,
families, organizations and
communities. Areas
covered are: quality
assurance, cost-effective
service strategies, budgeting,
strategic planning,
marketing strategies and
facility planning.
Effective management of human
resources, such as
recruitment, retention and
supervision is
included. Students are
expected to systematically
identify common problems in
the workplace and work
on resolutions. Special
consideration will be
given to developing good
interpersonal
relationship skills.

Prerequisites: PTR551, PTR651, and PTR652.
