MUS 463 - Film Music Analysis

This course focuses on how music “works” in film: what it connotes or signifies, how it functions as a narrative element, how it positions characters and affects audiences’ empathies or identifications, how it situates spectators. We will view and study several films and analyze a selection of course excerpts. Course Codes: C. Open to music majors only, or permission of instructor. Prerequisite: MUS*223.
