TSL 604 - Foundations of Bilingual/Multicultural Education This course examines the historical, theoretical, philosophical, ethical and legal/regulatory dimensions of the education of culturally and linguistically diverse students. Varied perspectives on forms and models of bilingual and multicultural education are developed through historical and contemporary texts and state and local policies. The roles and responsibilities of students, parents, community groups and agencies, and educational institutions in creating and maintaining equitable and effective educational programs and practices for students from all cultural and linguistic backgrounds, including those with disabilities, are explored.
