ENGL 239 - Hitting the Road: Fictions of American Mobility

This literature course will focus on short stories and novels that in various ways take up American ideas of movement and mobility, in order to address a crucial question: why are ideas about mobility so central to our national mythmaking, and how have those ideas changed over time?
