French - Minor

Students choosing to minor in French must take 18 credits of coursework and have two options:

Study Abroad in Rennes, plus selected French coursework (OPTION 1)

Requirements (total minimum 18 credits)

Study Abroad in Rennes (one semester)
- Earn 14-15 credits (note - students do not need to have any knowledge of the French language to study abroad)
- Fulfill three different PEQ requirements, with courses taught in English or French
- Complete at least one intensive French language course at the student’s language level
- Live with a French host family, and travel to the beaches of Normandy, Mont Saint Michel, Saint Malo, Paris, and other major European cities
Complete one of the following Nazareth French Minor language courses (corequisite labs may be required)
- FRN 102 Elementary French II (students with limited or no proficiency must take FRN*101 prior to enrolling in FRN*102)
- FRN 221 Discovering the French Language and Cultures of the Francophone World I
- FRN 222 Discovering French Language and Cultures of the Francophone World II
- FRN 204G The Francophone World II
- FRN 312 Advanced Grammar and Stylistics

Nazareth College Coursework (OPTION 2)

Requirements (total minimum 18 credits)
