At Nazareth, students interested in education certification (teacher certification) are required to complete a liberal arts and sciences major.
Adolescence programs (Grades 7-12) are available in the following areas: Biology, Chemistry, Chinese (Mandarin), English, French, German, History, Italian, Mathematics, Spanish and Theater (with English certification). Adolescence Students with Disabilities Generalist Certification is available with these majors.
Inclusive Early Childhood/Childhood programs (Birth - Grade 6) are available in: Biology, Chemistry, History, English, Mathematics, Languages (French, German, Italian, Spanish), American Studies, Anthropology, Economics, International Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Religious Studies, Social Science, Sociology, Theatre Arts. These programs lead to a college recommendation in the following four NYS certifications:
- Early Childhood Education (Birth - Grade 2)
- Students with Disabilities at the Early Childhood level (Birth - Grade 2)
- Childhood Education (Grades 1 - 6)
- Students with Disabilities at the Childhood level (Grades 1 - 6)
Teacher certification programs are also available in Art and Music.
