Marketing - Major

The marketing program is part of the School of Management. This program offers a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing. It combines the professional discipline with a solid foundation in the arts and sciences.

The goal of the marketing major is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to gain access to entry-level marketing positions in general marketing, sales, customer service, marketing communications, market research, public relations, and other marketing-related fields.

Student Learning Outcomes

Students pursuing the marketing major will:

  1. Assess and analyze business situations and identify the key issues to be addressed by marketing management.
  2. Formulate, and effectively communicate the strategic and tactical recommendations with the appropriate analysis and justification.
  3. Estimate the financial, human and operational impact of strategic and tactical recommendations.
  4. Determine the information needs associated with specific decision situations and with the ability to assess the validity and appropriate application of data from internal and external information sources.
  5. Assess market conditions and the relevant factors that impact organizational and marketing program performance.
  6. Effectively discuss and explain marketing principles and concepts
