Core Curriculum Requirements

All Nazareth students complete Core Curriculum coursework as part of their degree requirements. The Core provides a foundation in the liberal arts and sciences while guiding students to pose and explore their own intellectual questions. See Academic Policies and Procedures  for specific core curriculum requirements.

Mathematics Core

The Mathematics core provides the foundation for all of our programs. Students take 7 courses (19 credits) listed below. The individual programs add mathematical depth and breadth.

Required Courses for Mathematics Majors

In addition to the Mathematics core, students in the Mathematics major are required to take the 9 credits listed below.

Mathematics Senior Experience

The comprehensive experience evaluates student mastery in mathematical thinking.  Students are actively involved in investigating collections of non-routine problems from a variety of sources. Students will be required to demonstrate their understanding and application of fundamental concepts, processes, representations and communication of mathematics.
