Professor:  Marino, Ed.D.;  Lecturers:  Eisenberg, M.S., Green, M.S., Toscano, M.S.

The Business and Marketing Education Program is part of the School of Management.  The program offers a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Marketing Education.
The mission of the program is to provide students with the skills and confidence needed to succeed as active and productive business teachers at the secondary and post-secondary levels.

The curriculum in this program is quite broad and diverse and rooted in the liberal arts tradition.  The program is designed to integrate the best theory and practice and facilitate the transition from student to teacher.

Students can self select to enter the Business and Marketing Education Initial Certification program at anytime, from their initial application to Nazareth College through their sophomore year. Students need to maintain a 2.7 cumulative GPA to remain in the teacher education program. If a student has lower than a 2.7 GPA, or if they have completed fewer than 45 credit hours, they are conditionally accepted. In order to move into the student teaching semester, students must have joint approval of the School of Management and the School of Education. This approval is obtained through the Student Teaching Application which is completed in the beginning of the junior year. Approval is based on GPA, content knowledge, and satisfactory progress in their degree programs as well as their education program.

Students who successfully complete this program will receive New York State Initial Teacher Certification in Business and Marketing Education (K-12).
