CSD 579 - Assessment and Treatment of Cognitive Communication Disorders in TBI and Neurodegenerative Disease


Exploration of the science and practice of cognitive-communication rehabilitation in acute and post-acute settings. Topics include in-depth examination of evidence-based treatments, applied, and practical strategies in the assessment and rehabilitation of cognitive-communication deficits; neurobehavioral deficits and management strategies following brain injury; community re-entry issues; counseling; and more. Application of these topics to the rehabilitation of acquired brain injury and neurodegenerative diseases will be explored. Relevant experiential learning and clinical opportunities will be an integral part of this course.
