ATR 528 - Art Therapy: Theories, Practice and Counseling This course is designed to prepare students in the foundations of art therapy theory, history and practice, such as but not limited to, history of the pioneers in the field. The general application of counseling theory and how they are applied to art therapy approaches is a key feature of this class. Through instruction, research presentations, and experientials, students will develop their knowledge of core art therapy principles of professional practice. Students will have the opportunity to see art therapy in action by observing and supporting art therapy sessions through the York Wellness and Rehabilitation Art Therapy Clinic for 25 hours.
