MUS 317 - The History of Western Music III: Music Since 1900 The course explores significant developments in Western European and American music from 1900 to the present, investigating the aesthetic trends, “isms”, compositional techniques, and genres of music, including the classical, jazz, and popular styles as well as considering the impact of technology, innovations in notation and performance practice.
