ACS 101L - Academic and College Success Service Learning Experience A student’s first semester of college is a unique opportunity for personal growth and discovery. One of the most effective ways to learn and grow is through exposure to novel situations and different perspectives that challenge existing ways of thinking. The ACS service learning experience is an opportunity for freshmen to gain this exposure and add depth and relevance to their learning in ACS 101 through community-based learning with engagement opportunities focused on priorities in the Rochester community (health, education, poverty/economy). Course must be taken concurrently with ACS*101. Includes 10-20 service learning hours, with exact hours to be determined in consultation with community partners.
